My website has been comprehensively updated and redesigned.
Please use the horizontal menu to enjoy exploring the wide range of information and projects.
The biography has been updated with significant developments.
The media reviews will be useful for reference in relation to film directors & producers, artistic collaborators, artistic commissioners, promoters and festivals.
The videos page has been significantly expanded: it comprises collaborations with musicians and choreographers, film soundtracks, explorative tuning in composition & performance as well as examples from my research archive.
With regard to tuition: I also now offer hammered dulcimer lessons by Skype.
I am excited to be able to teach people by Skype who live in countries around the world as well as in the UK. Lessons are conscientiously tailored to what you would personally like to achieve. Lessons focus on each musician’s aims and musical preferences: whether traditional folk, classical, popular & contemporary song, jazz, improvisation or composition.
If you would like to book a free introductory dulcimer lesson please contact me at: dulcimer.co.uk@gmail.com
The film soundtracks page features three examples of my film soundtracks:
‘Haxan - Witchcraft Through The Ages’ (score with film), ‘Faust’ (audio only due to film copyright restrictions), ‘Risperidone Years’ (score with film). The recording of ‘The Cabinet of Dr Caligari’ score is available via the Record store page. The recording of my score for ‘The Adventures of Prince Achmed’ will be made available after post production and mixing in the studio.
The gallery page comprises a selection of new photographs that feature the range of different dulcimers (microtonal dulcimer with ‘Fluid Tuning’ mechanisms, chromatic dulcimer and diatonic dulcimer) that I use in composition and performance. Full resolution photographs for publicity purposes can be provided on request.
The record store makes a range of recordings available in different formats (download, CD & rare vinyl). These include new and recent recordings as well as limited edition back catalogue. Please click on the image of each record release to reveal information about each recording.
The Fluid Piano page provides a direct link to the website of my invention: ‘The Fluid Piano’. I have included this for anyone who is not yet aware of the Fluid Piano. My invention was conceived through my composition and performance on multiple hammered dulcimers.
I hope very much that you enjoy exploring the website.
